Do I need IVF if I have PCOS?

Medically reviewed by: Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çınar — Obstetrics & Gynecology, IVF and Reproductive Medicine SpecialistLast updated:

Short answer

PCOS alone is not an indication for IVF. Many patients conceive with weight management, ovulation induction medication or intrauterine insemination. IVF is considered when these steps are unsuccessful, when the fallopian tubes are blocked, or when a significant male factor is also present.
